Privacy Policy

Please note: this privacy policy has not been reviewed by a lawyer. The wording was taken from the previous website. On 3 August 2026 the sections about hosting, tools, cookies, analytics and embedded services were corrected, because they described services that this website does not use. On 7 August 2026 those same sections were narrowed and section 14 was added, because the booking calendar on our contact page does reach an outside server once you open it. Legal bases, data subject rights and storage periods are unchanged and still require a legal review, and so do the legal grounds for the booking calendar. The hosting provider is not yet named in section 3 because it has not been decided.

Last Updated on May 20th, 2026. Sections 3, 4, 5, 8, 9 and 13 were corrected on 3 August 2026 so that they describe this website as it is actually delivered. Sections 3, 4 and 5 were narrowed on 7 August 2026 and section 14 was added, because the contact page now offers a booking calendar.

1) Introduction and Contact

Information of the Data Controller

1.1 Thank you for visiting our website. Below, we inform you about how we handle your personal data when you use our website. Personal data refers to all data that can be used to identify you personally.

1.2 The controller responsible for data processing on this website, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is Layer One GmbH, Warmbüchenstraße 30, 30159 Hannover, Germany, Tel.: +49 511 12290323, Email: hello@mail.layer-one.io. The controller decides alone or jointly with others on the purposes and means of processing personal data.

2) Data Collection When Visiting Our Website

2.1 When you use our website purely for informational purposes, we collect only the data that your browser automatically transmits to our server (so-called "server log files"). This includes: - Pages visited - Date and time of access - Amount of data sent (in bytes) - Source or reference from which you accessed the page - Browser used - Operating system used - IP address (possibly anonymized) The processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in ensuring the stability and functionality of the website. 2.2 This website uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of personal data and other confidential content (e.g., orders or inquiries to the controller). You can recognize an encrypted connection by the "https://" prefix and the lock symbol in your browser's address bar.

3) Hosting and Content-Delivery-Network

This website consists of static files. Everything it needs, fonts, images, scripts and the 3D scene, is delivered from this website's own address. No content delivery network and no other third party address is contacted while you browse these pages. The one thing that reaches beyond this website is the booking calendar, and it stays silent until you open it yourself; section 14 describes it. The hosting provider will be named at this point before the website goes live. Ionos provides email services for us. We conclude data processing agreements with the providers we use.

4) Tools and Pixels

This website uses no analytics, tracking or advertising tools. Measured on 3 August 2026 against the delivered website: eighteen page views produced 159 requests, and every single one of them went to our own server. No Google Analytics, no Vercel Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no TikTok Pixel and no comparable service is loaded. No data about your visit is therefore passed to such providers. Since 7 August 2026 one address can be added to those requests, but only by you: the booking calendar in section 14, and only once you click to open it. It is not an analytics tool, and measured on the same day it loads no analytics tool of its own.

5) Cookies

This website sets no cookies. Measured on 3 August 2026 in a fresh browser profile after five page views: no cookie, no entry in local storage, no entry in session storage. There is consequently no cookie banner and no consent tool, because there is nothing to consent to. One exception exists since 7 August 2026, and it is in your hands: if you open the booking calendar described in section 14, that calendar sets two session cookies of its own. They are set on its own address, cal.layer-one.io, not on the pages you are reading, they carry no advertising identifier, and they disappear when you close your browser. Measured the same day: as long as you do not open the calendar, this website still sets nothing at all.

6) Contact

If you contact us via email or contact form, we process your personal data solely for the purpose of handling your request. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR (contract) or Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).

7) Use of Customer Data for Direct Advertising

We use your data for sending newsletters and other marketing measures, provided you have explicitly given your consent (double opt-in procedure). You can withdraw your consent at any time.

8) Web Analytics Services

This website uses no web analytics service. Google Analytics 4 is not loaded on any page. See section 4 for how this was measured.

9) Website Functionalities

This website embeds no map service and no customer review service. Our contact page carries a link to a map service so that you can find our address there. A link transfers nothing on its own; data reaches that provider only if you click it and thereby leave this website. While you are on our pages, nothing is loaded from Google.

10) Rights of Data Subjects

You have the following rights: - Right to access your data - Right to rectification and deletion - Right to restrict processing - Right to data portability - Right to object to the processing of your data - Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

11) Duration of Storage

Personal data is stored only as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention periods.

12) Changes to the Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy to reflect changes in legal requirements or our services. The current version is always available on our website.

13) 3D Graphic in the Page Header (Spline)

The header of our start page shows an interactive 3D graphic. It is displayed by the Spline viewer. Both the viewer program and the scene file are stored on this website and are delivered from our own address. Your browser does not contact Spline, unpkg or any other outside provider in order to show the graphic.

This was measured on 3 August 2026 against the delivered website, including the four preview pages on which the 3D scene runs: no request went to unpkg.com, none to prod.spline.design, and none to any other outside address. An earlier version of this website loaded both files from those two addresses, which meant that your IP address reached them. That is no longer the case.

The 3D graphic starts loading as soon as the page structure is ready, and it is loaded on every visit to a page that shows it. There is no fallback still image: if your browser cannot display the scene, the header keeps its plain background. Loading it contacts no address other than this website.

14) Booking a Call (Calendar on cal.layer-one.io)

You can book an introductory call from several places on this website: from our contact page, from the end of our start page, and from the action bar that sits at the bottom of every page. They all open the same calendar, and none of them opens it on its own. The calendar runs at cal.layer-one.io. That address belongs to our domain, but it is a different server from the one that delivers these pages, and the software running there is Cal.com. Booking is therefore the one place on this website where your data leaves the server you are currently reading from.

On every page except one, nothing of it is loaded until you ask for it. As long as you only read, your browser sends no request to cal.layer-one.io at all: the calendar is a button, and it becomes a calendar only when you click it. This is not a promise about intentions, it is how the page is built, and you can check it in your browser with the network tab open.

The one exception is our briefing landing page at /schulung. That page exists for a single purpose, booking a seat in the free live briefing, and the calendar for it is embedded there directly: it loads together with the page, without a click. Your IP address, your browser and your time zone therefore reach cal.layer-one.io as soon as you open that page. We run that server ourselves and the calendar software on it is self-hosted, so nothing about this reaches another company; the paragraph below applies to it in full.

Once you open it, your IP address, your browser and your time zone reach that server, because it needs them to show you the free slots in your local time. If you go on to book, the name, email address and any note you type reach it as well, together with the appointment itself. Two session cookies are set at that point, both on cal.layer-one.io and not on these pages; they hold no advertising identifier and end when you close your browser.

This was measured on 7 August 2026 against the delivered website. Before the click: no request to cal.layer-one.io. After the click, including selecting a day: 67 requests, and every one of them went to cal.layer-one.io. None went to cal.com, none to Google, and none to any analytics or advertising service. If you would rather not use the calendar, the contact form and our email address on the same page reach us just as well.
